How parlay analysis works
- True probability
- Multiply the implied win probability of each leg (from the odds). This is what the parlay should pay if there were zero house edge.
- Fair payout
- What the book should offer at a fair price. If the true probability is 10%, a fair payout is +900. Anything less means the book is taking a cut.
- House edge
- The difference between the true probability and the book's implied probability on the parlay odds. This is the tax you pay for the parlay format.
- Positive EV parlays
- Rare but they exist — usually when one or more legs contains a line with positive expected value that compounds across the parlay. Boosted parlays occasionally offer positive EV.
